(Al-Baqara) 2 : 283

And if you are on a journey and you don’t find a writer, then pledge with security. Then if one of you entrusts something to another, the one who has been entrusted should give back his security, and he should heed Lord Allah, and you don’t conceal the witness; and whoever is concealing it, then indeed he is a sinner to his heart, and Allah is the Knower of whatever you are doing.

The character of the believers is told both in verses 23: 8 and 70: 32 as they faithfully keep up their trust and covenants. It is told in verse 4: 58: “Indeed Lord commands you to give back the trusts to their rightful owners, and when you judge between the people, you should judge with Justice Adhikr”. The character of Jews and Christians during the time of Messenger in the case of trusts is shown in verse 3: 75 as: “If you entrust them even a heap of gold, they would hand It back to you; while if you entrust with even a gold coin, some of them would never hand it back to you unless you are constantly keeping on asking”. Today the Arabic Quran reading Fujjar who read these verses are having, even more, worse character than that of other people. It is told in verses 33: 72-73: “The Trust Adhikr is revealed to punish the hypocritical men and women as well as the Mushrik men and women, and to accept the repentance from believing men and women”. See explanation 2: 140; 8: 22; 25: 17-18, and 29-30.
